FAQs
What is Inhouse Type?+
Inhouse Type is an independent type foundry licensing typefaces for commercial, editorial, and digital use worldwide.
Are the licences perpetual?+
Yes. All licences are perpetual. You only need to upgrade if your usage exceeds the originally agreed scope.
How do I know what I’m allowed to do?+
Your permitted use is defined by the EULA and your Order Confirmation. If a use is not explicitly permitted, it is not allowed.
Can I use the fonts commercially?+
Yes, provided commercial use is included in your licence and the use matches the permitted scope.
What does a Desktop licence cover?+
Static design outputs such as print, PDFs, presentations, and images. It does not cover web embedding, apps, games, packaging, signage, or broadcast use.
Can I use the fonts on a website?+
Only with a valid Web licence and only using approved web formats (WOFF, WOFF2, or Web-only TTF).
Can I embed fonts in PDFs?+
Yes, if explicitly permitted in your Order Confirmation. Embedded fonts must not be extractable or installable by end users.
Can I share files with collaborators?+
Yes, provided collaborators do not install, extract, or receive the font files as executable or installable files.
Do you offer trial fonts?+
Yes. Trial fonts are for evaluation only and must not be used commercially or published.
Can I modify the font files?+
No. Fonts may not be modified, converted, or reverse-engineered unless expressly agreed in writing.
Can I use the fonts with AI or machine learning?+
No. Any AI-related use, including training, generation, data mining, or vectorisation, is strictly prohibited.
Who owns the fonts?+
Inhouse Type retains full intellectual property rights. Fonts are licensed, not sold.
Can I upgrade my licence later?+
Yes. Licences can be upgraded or extended at any time if your usage changes.
Do you charge VAT?+
UK VAT applies where required. International customers are not charged UK VAT.
